How Do Citizens of Mexico feel about Halloween?
While Halloween is becoming more popular in Mexico, the people of Mexico feel that Halloween is contributing to a loss of identity. This can be seem with the commercialization of Día de Los Muertos stemming from Halloween and how it is celebrated. Major retail stores now sell Halloween merchandise in Mexico and because they are celebrated on almost the same days, this causes many Halloween decorations to be associated with Día de Los Muertos.
There is also a political pressure's contributing to this feeling.

North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA): A trade agreement between Canada, United States and Mexico. While this allowed for cheaper goods, it is credited with bringing a strong consumerism mindset that has bled over to Día de Los Muertos.
